Molyn Credit Limited CEO is elected to the board of AMFI.
The Annual General Meeting held on 26th June 2011 saw the election of a new board . We are very excited to note that our CEO was elected into the board to represent small upcoming Microfinance Organizations(MFI’s). Congratulations Mrs. Lydia Anyangu on your being elected to be a board member of Association of Microfinance Institutions – Kenya (AMFI-K)
Molyn Credit is nominated by AMFI in the 1st phase fo the SPM Program.
The 1st Phase of the SPM Programme targets 15 MFIs - Faulu DTM, KWFT DTM, SMEP DTM, SISDO, ECLOF-K, PAWDEP, Adok Timo, BIMAS, Select Mgmt Services, Opportunity Kenya, Yehu MFT, Molyn Credit, AAR Credit Services, Taifa Options & RETAP. The Technical Support and Training will be undertaken by 8 identified SPM Consultants. The 2nd Phase of will begin in 3-4 months and target an additional 20-25 MFIs. AMFI intends to have all its members reporting on the relevant Social Indicators by next year.
According to the SPM Manager, Patrick Lumumba, “The microfinance industry was borne out of a desire to help the poor access affordable financial services. To this extent, the social mission of MFIs remains relevant and necessary. However, the social mandate of MFIs as a key enabler in economic and social progression has lost priority as it is not being measured or monitored. The objective of the SPM programme therefore, is to re-align all AMFI member organizations back to their original missions by facilitating them to track key social indicators.”
